Northern graduates are highly sought after by major companies—companies like GE, BNSF, Caterpillar, and Kiewit.

“The demand for 4-year diesel graduates cannot be overestimated. Northern continues to provide employers with graduates that can meet the challenges of today’s industry.”

Bill Crandall, Vice President, Modern Machinery

“Northern is the best place to get quality educated, diesel students into our industry.”

Cole Lowder, Service Accounts Manager, Wartsila N. A.

My name is Geri Kinsfather. I work at Tractor & Equipment company.

Jason Greenwood, I'm the regional manager here in Havre, Montana for GE Transportation.

I work for RDO Equipment. I'm the regional aftermarket manager, parts and service.

My name is Scott Britt. I'm a district service manager of Penske Truck Leasing.

Duane Baney with Western States Equipment Company. I actually graduated from Northern in 1985. Back then, it was the best diesel school in the area, still is today. In Missoula alone, we have 10 former Northern students working for us with a tenure of over 20 years.

My name is Dennis Gubbels. My title is service supervisor at our Albany, Oregon Peterson Cat dealership location.

My name is Ron Ruiz. And I'm a field service resource manager for Warstila North America.

My name is Matt Wheeler. I work for BNSF Railway. We have a little over 40,000 employees, 32,000 route miles of track. We cover the western 2/3 of the United States, so really one of the largest railroads in North America. The reason that we recruit at Montana State Northern is the people. We find that they have a good work ethic, and they're studying the kind of things that we need at BNSF.

We've hired about 110 students over the last 18 years. The reason that we continue to come back is the caliber of the individuals that we get. Right now, I'm here interviewing for internships positions around the countryside, anywhere from New York to Georgia to California and all the way back up here.

We've had seven interns from Northern. Of the two that we currently have, I would take a hundred of them if I could get my hands on them.

We have 1800 techs. We have 2,500 members. We come to Northern for a very good reason. We promote from within. And a lot of our technicians become salespeople. They become managers. They become product support managers. They become general managers. They know the product. Our business is about knowing the product, being of value to the customer. We're looking to hire some more of your students. Thank you very much.
